Utah Vacation Part 1

The Drive

We decided to go for a straight 24 hour drive to Utah.  Lily didn't sleep for 15 hours.  I believe I was inspired to figure out how to help her sleep.  It may or may not have been legal so I won't share the details:). Right when we got there we had a kid throw up, which we thought would ruin the whole vacation since my niece has a poorly functioning immune system.  We stopped at a park to figure out what we were going to do.  Luckily it was just car sickness.

Lunt Family Reunion

We had a princess tea party for the nieces.  Some of us fit into our prom dresses than others:).

I'm supposed to be Elsa.  I was pretty proud of my tulle under shirt and cape I made in an hour.

It doesn't get fancier than Little Debbie Fancy Cakes.

 Princess Make-Up

Our family does have a few nephews.  They weren't interested in the tea party.

We had a cup cake making contest.  I lost the competition, but not pounds from taste testing:).

We camped one night at the Heber Young Women's Camp.

Lucy loves holding babies.

Seth was teaching the nephews how real men can make one match fires.

The girls did a fashion show for Lucy.  Lucy was a big fan.

We did a lot of hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

It was so fun that all my family was able to come to the reunion.  We were especially blessed to see Lucy and enjoy her spirit there.  I'm so blessed to be part of such a good, forever family.

Tricked

For some reason our kids always ask to sleep downstairs.  They think it will be awesome.  We've told them no until last night.  Joe was gone and I told the kids the reason why they can't sleep downstairs is because Dad and I are up cleaning.  They would have to make the downstairs totally clean if they wanted to sleep downstairs.  They never cleaned so well!

4th of July and Visitors!

I'm normally a Fourth of July party pooper when it comes to many of the traditional activities.  This year we decided to go big because we had visitors.  It was also beautiful weather so that helped a lot.
 Fourth of July parade pictures.

Laura, Thomas, Lily and Lincoln waiting for the parade.

Aren't our clothes so festive?  This is pretty big for me.
We went to this kid zone that was supposed to be expensive but somehow we ended up with a ton of free tickets.  I guessed we looked pitiful enough that people thought we should just have the tickets.  That made for my Fourth of July!

I am truly grateful for our country and all those men and women who have sacrificed so much to keep us free.

Don't Cut Your Own Hair

I'm not sure why Lincoln decided to cut his bangs, but he definitely didn't like the following necessary fix:). "I look bald!"

Good-Bye old Friend

The van's transmission broke.  The repair was worth more than the value of the vehicle.  We felt like it was time to say goodbye.  The Kia was a great van for us.  We were grateful that the kids and I were ok and able to be rescued when it broke down.
We got a New New Sienna.  It's not our nature to buy new, but it had a great warranty, price, and 0% financing.  We're planning on this van lasting twenty years, at least:).

Father's Day

I'm so blessed to have Joe as the father of my children.  We tried to let him take it easy starting with breakfast in bed.  I must have done a good job because I was exhausted at the end of the day.

Joe works so hard to help the children feel loved.  He spends a lot of time with the kids entertaining them and is very patient with them.  I couldn't ask for a better husband.

Lincoln's 6th Birthday

Rachel and I made a mess making the pinata.
Lincoln's breakfast request.  I don't know if he loved being woken up.

The Pokemon Birthday Party

Somehow we ended up with 12 kids at the party but it turned out well.
