Lincoln's Dinosaur Party

We had a dinosaur party for Lincoln's 4th birthday.  His birthday is not until the 19th but a lot of his friends were leaving so we had it early.

We started the party with "We're going on a Dinosaur Hunt" rhythem and motions story that they liked a lot.  After that they lined up for pin the tail on the dinosaur.

Next we played don't drop the dinosaur egg.

Lunch consisted of dinosaur chicken nuggets and Lincoln's favorite- cheetos.

Lincoln just wanted cupcakes with little dinosaurs on them for his cake.  I loved how easy it was to make:)  Rachel and Lincoln have been playing nicely with those little dinosaurs all morning so I love his idea even more now.

Next was presents.

Last was the pinata.  It's funny to me how they request a pinata every year.  Don't be confused by the look in their eyes, a grown up has to break it every year.  I guess the candy is just as good either way.

Kindergarten Graduation

They had a big ceremony at Rachel's school for kindergarten graduation.  Rachel is in the front left with a pink shirt and yellow skirt.

This is Rachel with her teacher Mrs. Oakley.  We all loved her.  I hope her teacher is just as good next year.
All the kids standing outside the school after celebrating with cake and soda.

Happy Late Mother's Day

Joe and the kids did a really good job with Mother's Day.  Joe took lots of pictures so I was waiting for him to do a flowery blog post...It started out with Joe making me breakfast.
After a wonderful nap the kids and Joe made me a delicious dinner and gave me presents.
I got handles for my cupboards that I was really excited about.  I also got a lot of pictures from my children.  Thanks for making it so nice guys. I'm grateful for all the wonderful mothers out there.

Sharks on the Run

Rachel's School did a race for a fundraiser so we joined in the cause.  We split the children this way because of the personality dynamic.  Hannah likes to pester her stroller mate too much.  Joe carried an extra 80+ pounds.

Lincoln enjoyed doing pre-race warm up jogs with Joe.  Good thing he was wearing his running moon boots.

 Joe near the finish.

 Me towards the beginning

Me at the end sprint.  My friend took the race pictures and I would like to think that I was just too fast for her camera to focus but she says she got sand in her camera.  We all have our interpretations:).

My Sanity Project

I got Rachel's comforters and wanted to do a valance.  This is the valance that goes with the bedroom set, which I wasn't in love with...plus it was really expensive.

I've found my life is happier if I have a creative outlet/project, so I decided to make my own valance.  It took a while, but I learned how to do the ribbon embroidery and it turned out really well, or at least that's what you're supposed to tell me:).  My wonderful husband was nice to hang them right after I finished, even though he had other things to do.  Good man.

Field Day

I volunteered at Rachel's Field Day.  It turns out that I probably shouldn't have volunteered and brought Lincoln and Hannah because they didn't last very long.  It was fun to be able to see Rachel and take some pictures.

On two Wheels

I forgot to post that about 3 weeks ago Rachel learned how to ride her bike without training wheels.  We tried to tell her and helped her several times and one day it just clicked and she was off.
